Exciting Girl Scout Program at Hoot's Hollow Farm
Unleash Adventure and Learning with Horseback Riding and More!
At Hoot's Hollow Farm, we offer a captivating Girl Scout program designed to help scouts achieve their Horseback Riding Merit Badge. This experience combines the thrill of horseback riding with fun and educational activities, all in a safe, clean, and charming family farm environment.
Program Highlights:
Action-Packed 3-Hour Session: Our program is an adventure where girls will learn about horse care, grooming, feeding, leading, and mucking stalls.
Individual Riding Time: Each scout will have the opportunity to ride independently on our gentle horse, Odin, allowing for a more personalized and memorable experience compared to group riding.
Hands-On Learning: Scouts will practice controlling the horse to turn and stop, first on a lead line and then independently, building their confidence and riding skills.
Art and Creativity: The girls will take a break for cookies and then paint ceramic horse plaques to take home as a keepsake of their special day.
Animal Interaction: A visit to our chicken coop lets the scouts hold and pet baby chicks and rabbits (some scouts said this was their favorite activity!).
Fun Little Store: Visit our “itty-bitty” mobile farm store where nothing is over $8, offering delightful souvenirs and treats for everyone.
Details:
Cost: $40 per scout with a minimum of 6 scouts per group.
Scheduling: Flexible scheduling options to fit your needs, with Sundays from 1-4 PM being the most popular choice.
Booking: A $150 deposit is required to hold the date, with the balance due on the day of the program.
Add-on Lunch: Complete your day by adding lunch for $5 per person.
All Parents Welcome: There is nothing more exciting than seeing your scout excel and become more confident and courageous, right before your eyes!

Meet Hoot and Odin: Get to know Hoot, a Tennessee Walker/Spotted Saddle Horse, and Odin, an Icelandic Horse. Learn how to safely feed, approach, and walk these majestic creatures. Build a bond of trust with the horse as you teach it to back up and lead it around the pasture. This hands-on activity is both fun and educational.
Guided Horse Ride: Saddle up for a guided ride where you'll learn to steer, stop, and back up the horse. Kids can even dress up in a cowboy hat and fringed half-chaps for a memorable photo session.
Unlock the Enchanted Cottage: Discover the magic as you unlock the door to Mr. Chicken's enchanted cottage and fish for candy. It's a whimsical adventure that will enchant kids of all ages.

Farmyard Frolic – Preschool & Toddler Farm Tour in San Diego
Looking for a gentle, hands-on farm experience in San Diego that’s perfect for younger children?
Our Farmyard Frolic at Hoot’s Hollow Farm in Bonita is a one-hour, interactive farm tour designed especially for toddlers, preschoolers, and TK-aged children. This small-group experience gives little ones the chance to explore the farm at their own pace in a calm, welcoming environment.
During this approximately 1-hour visit, children will:
• Step inside our walk-in chicken coop and meet our colorful rainbow egg-laying hens
• Hold and cuddle bunnies and quail
• Pet, feed, and meet our gentle horses
• Enjoy time in our charming farm playground — a sweet space designed for little imaginations, climbing, giggles, and country-style fun
